Structural Steel DetailerBend, Oregon, United StatesMax Manufacturing, one of Central Oregon's most skilled fab shops, is searching for an experienced Structural Steel Detailer with strong 3D drafting experience to join their team. This role involves producing accurate 3D models, shop drawings, and erection drawings to support the fabrication and installation of structural steel projects. The position requires close coordination with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to ensure quality, accuracy and constructability.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce accurate 3D models, shop drawings, and erection drawings for structural steelInterpret architectural and structural engineering drawings and specificationsDevelop steel connection details in accordance with applicable codes and standardsCoordinate with engineers, fabricators, and contractors to resolve design issuesUpdate drawings based on RFI's, revisions, and site feedbackPrepare material lists and fabrication-ready documentationMaintain organized drawing files and project recordsProvide technical support to fabrication and erection teamsQualifications & ExperienceDegree in Civil / Structural Engineering or related field (preferred)Minimum of 2+ years of 3D drafting experience in structural steel detailingKnowledge of detailing and fabrication standards (AISC, AWS, ASTM, EN or equivalent)Experience producing steel shop and erection drawingsExperience with commercial, industrial or complex steel structuresStrong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processAbility to read and interpret structural and architectural drawingsHigh attention to detail with strong problem-solving skillsGood communication and coordination abilitiesSoftware SkillsProficiency in Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, AutoCAD 3D, or similar softwareExperience with 3D modeling, drawing extraction, and clash detectionFamiliarity with BIM workflowsBasic proficiency in MS Office or equivalent toolsPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
