Position Overview (RN or LPN Eligible)

A 1:1 School Nurse - RN or LPN - is needed to provide direct medical support to a medically fragile student. This role includes daily transportation supervision and full-day care within a school setting. The nurse ensures student safety, manages medical needs, and collaborates with educational staff and healthcare providers.


Assignment Details

• Student-specific placement based on individual medical needs (1:1 case)
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard school hours
• Transportation supervision: Ride the bus with the assigned student to and from school each day
• Location: Aston, PA

Key Responsibilities

• 1:1 skilled nursing care for a medically complex student throughout the school day
• Monitor health status and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs)
• Deliver emergency care and first aid as needed
• Maintain accurate and confidential health documentation
• Collaborate with staff and families to support student needs
• Support classroom participation while managing medical requirements
• Follow infection-control protocols
• Educate staff on care plans when appropriate
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Supervision

• May oversee health aides
• RNs may oversee LPNs depending on assignment

Minimum Qualifications

• ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program (for RN applicants)
• Practical Nursing diploma (for LPN applicants)
• Active RN or LPN license in good standing
• Experience in school health or pediatrics preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Comfortable with documentation systems and basic technology
