To support a growing network of educational institutions, the contract Remote Tutor will facilitate online tutoring sessions using the Socratic method to enhance students' critical thinking skills and foster independence. Key responsibilities Conduct online tutoring sessions via Upswing's virtual classroom, utilizing video, audio, and chat features Manage scheduling and availability to accommodate student demand, particularly during peak hours from Sunday to Thursday evenings Onboard new students and provide personalized support to help them achieve their academic goals Required qualifications Advanced knowledge in the subject area, gained through an undergraduate or graduate degree, or relevant professional experience Access to reliable high-speed Internet and a quiet, distraction-free environment for conducting tutorials Experience in teaching methodology or prior tutoring experience at the college level is preferred Ability to commit to a minimum of 2-5 hours of tutoring per week during the fall and spring semesters Excellent academic performance in undergraduate or graduate studies
