Mechanic - Forklift TechnicianThe Mechanic - Forklift Technician is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on forklifts and material handling equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient warehouse operations. This role helps reduce downtime, extend equipment life, and maintain compliance with safety regulations.PAY: $23- $25 per hour based on experienceDuties and Responsibilities:Perform routine preventive maintenance on forklifts (electric, propane, diesel, and gasoline), pallet jacks, and other material handling equipmentConduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections according to manufacturer and company PM schedulesDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform minor repairsLubricate, adjust, and replace parts such as filters, fluids, belts, hoses, brakes, and batteriesInspect forks, chains, tires, mast assemblies, and safety devices for wear or damageTest equipment after maintenance to ensure proper operation and safetyMaintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and work ordersTag and remove unsafe equipment from service when necessaryCoordinate with operations and maintenance teams to schedule PM work with minimal disruptionFollow OSHA, ANSI, and company safety policies at all timesMaintain a clean and organized maintenance area and properly handle tools and materialsQualifications and Requirements:High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred1–3 years of experience maintaining forklifts or industrial equipment (or equivalent mechanical experience)Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systemsAbility to read service manuals, PM checklists, and schematicsFamiliarity with OSHA forklift safety standards preferredValid driver's license required; forklift certification a plusSkills & CompetenciesStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAttention to detail and safety awarenessAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyGood communication and documentation skillsBasic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems (CMMS experience preferred)Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and work in tight spacesComfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperaturesWork EnvironmentWarehouse and industrial settingsExposure to moving equipment, noise, grease, oils, and cleaning chemicalsMay require occasional overtime, weekends, or on-call availabilityWe are an equal opportunity employer.
