The Maintenance Mechanical Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing operations by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and building systems. This position is essential to supporting safe and efficient production, contributing directly to the company's ongoing success and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize health and safety by consistently following all safety procedures and processes, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and building systems according to the CMMS schedule.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment issues, including emergency breakdowns, to minimize downtime and support continuous production.
  • Operate scissor lifts, aerial work platforms, and various types of forklifts as needed.
  • Utilize a range of hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Replace mechanical components such as bearings, seals, belts, chains, gears, sprockets, and couplings.
  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication work as required for equipment and facility repairs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and equipment manuals to guide maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed in the CMMS.
  • Support root cause analysis and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain housekeeping and adhere to 5S standards within the work area.
  • Assist in training other maintenance personnel in general maintenance practices.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness and capability to train others in general maintenance tasks.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work at heights with fall protection, and perform tasks requiring standing, kneeling, crawling, and bending in an industrial environment.
  • Availability to work overtime and be on call as needed.
