InsulatorThis role focuses on preparing and insulating commercial construction projects, including installing thermal and spray foam insulation and air vapor barriers. You will handle extensive prep and cleanup work, operate basic hand and power tools, and work closely with a crew to support renovation and new construction projects. The position offers hands-on training, clear opportunities for growth, and the chance to develop a long-term career in insulation and commercial construction.ResponsibilitiesPerform prep work and cleanup to prepare job sites for insulation or waterproofing, ensuring all surfaces and areas are ready for installation.Scrape excess insulation from joists, trusses, and other structural components to maintain clean and safe work areas.Install thermal insulation and spray foam insulation in various commercial structures, following project specifications and safety standards.Assist with installing air vapor barriers as part of building envelope systems to improve energy efficiency and performance.Use basic hand tools such as hammers, drills, bolts, and related equipment to support insulation and construction tasks.Operate hoses and equipment connected to 55-gallon drums of spray foam insulation in a safe and controlled manner.Wear and maintain a respirator and other personal protective equipment as required for spray foam and insulation work.Work at various heights on ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms while following safety protocols.Support the crew and supervisor with general construction duties, including tasks related to carpentry, framing, roofing, caulking, painting, and finish work as needed.Read or follow directions based on blueprints, plans, or supervisor instructions to complete installations accurately.Maintain an organized work area, ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored and handled.Follow all safety procedures and guidelines on active construction sites, including hospitals, schools, universities, office buildings, and stadiums.Collaborate with a crew of 3–4 team members and a supervisor, contributing to a positive, learning-focused team environment.Demonstrate attention to detail and quality workmanship in all insulation and construction-related tasks.Essential SkillsAt least 1+ years of construction experience in areas such as carpentry, concrete, insulation, or remediation work (excluding landscaping).Valid driver's license.Ability to work safely at different heights on ladders, scaffolding, or elevated surfaces.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Experience using basic hand tools such as hammers, drills, and related equipment.Comfort working in commercial construction environments, including renovation and ground-up builds.Willingness and ability to wear a respirator and follow all safety and protective equipment requirements.Reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to perform physical labor in a construction setting.Interest in learning insulation, spray foam, and related construction techniques under supervision.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in carpentry, framing, rough carpentry, or finish carpentry.Experience with insulation, roofing, drywall, flooring, tile, or other installation trades.Familiarity with commercial construction projects such as hospitals, schools, universities, office buildings, and stadiums.Ability to read or interpret blueprints and construction drawings.Experience with power tools and construction equipment.Exposure to caulking, painting, piping, and concrete work.Prior experience working as part of a crew or under a foreman, superintendent, or supervisor.Demonstrated commitment to safety practices on construction sites.Interest in growing into higher-responsibility roles within construction or insulation, such as lead insulator or foreperson.Why Work Here?You join a company that values long-term careers, invests in training, and supports continuous learning.
