OverviewThe Business Intelligence Analyst II is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality analytical dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI and/or Qlik. This role combines strong technical capability in SQL and data modeling with deep analytical thinking and business acumen. The BI Analyst works closely with business stakeholders to understand processes, data flows, and core operational questions, transforming raw data into meaningful insights that drive decision-making. apply best practices in visual storytelling, user experience and information designApply analytical techniques appropriate to the problem – trend analysis, segmentation, cohort analysis, correlation analysis, KPI development, etc. and provide stakeholders with tools/dashboards that support ongoing self-service insightDevelop strong understanding of the business processes, systems and data that power the organization’s KPIsPartner with Business Analysts and business leaders to clarify requirements, validate assumptions, and ensure alignment between reporting and real-world processesDocument logic, definitions and data flows to support transparency and repeatabilityOther duties as assignedQualificationsEducation / ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related field or equivalent industry certification and experience (required)Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in data gathering, data organization, and data analysis utilizing Microsoft SQL (required) SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and Power BI (preferred)Experience should include five (5) years of Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, and ETL or related experience (preferred)Experience with QlikView dashboards (preferred)Strong knowledge and experience with relational database platforms, including SQL ServerWorking knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, FERPA, GLBA, DoE Blue Book, Accreditation Standards, etc.) as they relate to data integrity and privacyAdvanced SQL Querying skills (required)SkillsApply knowledge and skills to complete tasks with minimal supervisionIdentify straightforward problems and recommend potential solutionsCommunicate clearly and effectively with peers and stakeholdersDemonstrate active listening and empathy in interactionsParticipate in presentations or facilitate small group discussionsManage multiple tasks in a dynamic environmentUse productivity software and collaboration tools with confidenceShow initiative and accountability for assigned outcomesPerform routine tasks and seek guidance for new situationsMake timely decisions that keep the organization moving forwardApply effective and efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvementBuild open and comfortable relationships with diverse groupsLearn actively from both successes and failures while solving new problemsAbilitiesAble and willing to:Communicate, think, learn, and reasonUse computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to process transactions, store documents, enter data, or perform assigned tasksSafely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at Company locationsDemonstrate and utilize active listening, inductive reasoning, information ordering and category flexibilityAbility to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretionAbility to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential and multiple projects are worked simultaneouslyAbility to gain, understand and apply information and data as it relates essential functions of the positionAbility to foster long-term relationships with stakeholdersAbility to apply disparate elements of information to solve complex problemsWork EnvironmentWork is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location.
