Overview

The Learn Academy, formerly known as Creative Learning Center, is looking for a Assistant Clinical Director to join our team in Redwood City, CA!

 

The Learn Academy is a state-certified, K-12 private day school in California for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurological disorders.  Our comprehensive services — available across the South Bay, Peninsula, and San Francisco Bay Area — are designed to meet the unique needs of the whole student. We are a division of the LEARN Academy, a national leader in special education, academic intervention, and behavioral services for autism. 

 

The Assistant Clinical Director serves as site-based clinical leader of the ABA program while maintaining direct involvement with students and educational teams. This position oversees the quality of behavioral programming, provides clinical supervision, mentors BCBAs and behavior staff, collaborates with teachers and related service providers, and works directly with students requiring advanced behavioral support.

 

This position is ideal for a BCBA who enjoys leading by example, building strong relationships, and creating a positive, student-centered culture.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related Field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of ABA clinical experience; five (5) preferred
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Experience working in school-based ABA programs is highly desirable
  • Current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification, in good standing
  • Crisis intervention certification
  • LiveScan
  • TB Clearance

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide clinical oversight for all Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services at the assigned school site(s).
  • Maintain an active caseload of students requiring BCBA-level assessment, consultation, and intervention.
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Review behavioral programming to ensure high-quality, evidence-based services.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with BACB Ethics Code, state regulations, and organizational standards.

Collaborative Student Support

  • Work directly with students in classrooms and across school environments.
  • Partner with teachers to develop practical, effective behavioral strategies.
  • Provide coaching and modeling of interventions in real time.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Support crisis prevention and intervention planning.
  • Collaborate with families to promote consistency between home and school.

Clinical Supervision & Staff Development

  • Supervise and mentor BCBAs, BCaBAs, RBTs, and behavior technicians.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive coaching.
  • Support onboarding and professional growth of new clinical staff.
  • Facilitate clinical trainings and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and growth-oriented team culture.

Program Quality & Compliance

  • Monitor treatment fidelity and clinical outcomes.
  • Review documentation for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Implement and maintain site-level clinical procedures in alignment with organizational clinical policy.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous program improvement.
  • Promote best practices throughout the school site.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as a collaborative partner with administrators, teachers, therapists, and families.
  • Assist with student placement, staffing, and clinical scheduling.
  • Provide guidance for complex behavioral cases.
  • Foster an environment where students and staff feel supported, respected, and successful.
  • Lead through visibility, accessibility, and teamwork rather than solely administrative oversight.
